Ingredients:
- 4 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Arrange the tomato slices and mozzarella cheese on a serving platter, alternating and slightly overlapping them.
- Tuck fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella slices.
- Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil over the salad.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Finish by drizzling balsamic glaze over the top. You can make your own glaze by reducing balsamic vinegar in a saucepan until it thickens, or you can use store-bought balsamic glaze for convenience.
- Serve the Caprese salad immediately as a refreshing appetizer or a light side dish.
